Had the same problem. Looks like a problems to me. Cheque your alternative email address - make certain the name office (before the @ sign)  contains just letters (didnt check how nigh numbers). Consider creating some free email account (only letters in the proper name part) and using it. Microsoft: cheque your code.

I kept getting this message while trying to get my security code via a telephone call to my land line.  When I changed the phone number to my cell phone and requested my security code via a text message, everything worked just fine.  Getting my security lawmaking via east-mail service has always worked.  This is not a Windows eight or eight.1 outcome as I have the same type of problem managing my Microsoft Business relationship with Windows seven.
